2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Ontario Network of SA/DVTC’s! Unfortunately, our services are needed as much as ever, so not so much of a “celebration” but rather a recognition and appreciation of our collective efforts over the years. As a Network and programs, we have grown and evolved, striving to meet the needs of our clients as well as the education and support needed by our program leaders and clinicians. There is still so much more to do.
Thank you to all the clinicians, program leaders and team members over the years who have worked on our teams. Your contributions have advanced our efforts. Thank you to Women’s College Hospital and the leadership team for their ongoing support in the administration and management of the Network home base. The Network continues to receive support from the Ministry of Health as its funder. In addition, in 2022-2023, the Ministry of Health approved enhanced funding for 10 SA/DVTCs to address nurse staffing challenges. It is with gratitude for the many efforts of programs and clinicians that there may be a trauma-informed and compassionate response to survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
